Audition Notice: Rogue Artists Ensemble’s Gogol Project

Rogue Artists Ensemble, the creators of the critically acclaimed Mr. Punch, announces auditions for their newest Hyper-theatrical work, Gogol Project written by Kitty Felde with music by Ego Plum, opening at Bootleg Theater on September 25th. This project combines mask work, silent characters, movement, puppetry, digital media and effects to bring three of Russian ‘realist’ Nikolai Gogol’s tales to life. Actors with a good movement sensibility are particularly encouraged to submit. As masks will be used, actors of any age may submit for consideration of roles.
Rehearsals will begin on Aug 1st (Mon – Thurs from 7 – 11pm and Sat’s from 9 – 6pm) and continue through the production opening on September 25th. Performances run through Nov 1st on Fri-Sat nights and Sat and Sunday matinees at Bootleg Theater in Los Angeles.
Auditions will take place on July 7th and 10th with callbacks on the 11th. To submit please send your resume and headshot with any additional experience noted to audition@rogueartists.org or via online casting service.
This is an 99 seat equity-waiver production and all cast members will be paid at the same rate. This production is produced in collaboration with Bootleg Theater.
Breakdown: Actors with unusual talents, movement experience, etc are encouraged to apply. In addition to the main roles there are supporting and character roles as well.

Captain of the guard, strong, full of himself, dashing, Dudley Do Right gone wrong, smooth talker
Magda the Milliner – F, 30 – 50’s
