Every summer, CalArts students travel to Rwanda and Uganda to study the history and cultures of these two nations and the ways art can participate in peace building. The exchange stems from a study of the Rwandan genocide and has grown to include a sister library in Rwanda focusing on genocide and an international performance festival in Kigali. This week from Tuesday October 13th through Friday October 16th, last year’s team will present a gallery chronicling their experience in A402 (above the main gallery). Gallery opening will be Wednesday the 14th, 7pm in A402. Come join us for a brief performance followed by conversation about the exchange and Arts in the One World, CalArts’ international conference on arts and social justice.
