Rogue Artists Ensemble seeking understudies for Critic’s Choice ‘Gogol Project’

Gogol Project has been extended for one additional weekend of performances and we are casting two understudies to fill in during the extension weekend of performances during Nov. 6 – 8. .

Rogue Artists Ensemble the creators of the critically acclaimed Mr. Punch, announces auditions for their newest Hyper-theatrical work, Gogol Project written by Kitty Felde with music by Ego Plum. This project combines mask work, silent characters, movement, puppetry, digital media and effects to bring three of Russian ‘realist’ Nikolai Gogol’s tales to life. Actors with a good movement sensibility are particularly encouraged to submit. Show info available at www.rogueartists.org/gogol

Audition Information

Auditions will take place this Saturday October 17th and Sunday October 18th at Bootleg Theater 2220 Beverly Blvd. Los Angeles.

Rehearsals will take place weeknights during the last two weeks of October with occasional rehearsals weekends. We may also be asking understudies to perform in a show during the last weekend of October.

This is a 99 seat equity-waiver production and all cast members will be paid at the same rate. This production is produced in collaboration with Bootleg Theater.

Breakdown

Actors with unusual talents, movement and mask/ mime experience, etc are encouraged to apply. In addition to the main roles there are supporting and character roles as well.

Sophie – F, 20-30s
 Ingénue, naïve, overly romantic, vivacious, incredibly sweet, endearing and lovely
Taller preferred (5’9 – 6’) but not necessary

The Servant / Polkan the postman– M, 30 – 50
 Town servant, eccentric, feeble
Postman – wry, fiery and comical
Shorter preferred (5’4 – 5’9) but not necessary
