A two-day Immersion into the Collaborative Experience of Filmmaking .

Academy Award winning actor Martin Landau, Oscar-nominated director Mark Rydell and noted playwright/screenwriter Lyle Kessler, who have more than a century of leadership of The Actors Studio program between them, will conduct The Total Picture Seminar, an immersion course in the inter-relationship of the three critical disciplines of narrative film-making – writing, acting and directing. Participation is a key. Writers will submit five minute scenes for consideration, those selected are directed and staged for the camera by Mark Rydell working with a renowned cinematographer. Actors will be cast from the audience and coached by Martin Landau. The scene content will be analyzed and discussed by Lyle Kessler. Clips from movies such as Ed Wood, On Golden Pond, The Rose, Orphans, Crimes and Misdemeanors will also be discussed with the audience.

This is a once in a lifetime event. Landau, Rydell, and Kessler are proud to be hosting this on the campus of UCLA.
