TENURE-STREAM APPOINTMENT IN THEATRE (COSTUME STUDIES)

The Department of Theatre at Dalhousie University invites applications for a tenure-stream appointment for a costume designer at the rank of Lecturer/Assistant Professor, commencing July 1, 2010. The successful candidate will design costumes for all four productions in the Dalhousie Theatre season. He or she will also be expected to teach in at least two of the following areas: the design, history, and/or creation of costume and dress. Qualifications expected are MA, MFA or equivalent degree and professional theatre experience as a costume designer. Evidence of strong teaching ability at the post-secondary level is an asset. The deadline for applications is January 15, 2010.
Applications, which should include a complete curriculum vitae, design portfolio, a statement of research/artistic and teaching interests and philosophies, and three confidential letters of reference forwarded by the referees under separate cover, should be sent in hard copy to:
