Watts Village Theater Company is looking for volunteer tour guides for Meet Me @ Metro.

Watts Village Theater Company is looking for volunteer tour guides to assist on their upcoming project, Meet Me @ Metro.

Meet Me @ Metro is an interactive, trans-disciplinary theatrical journey, conceived by WVTC‟s Artistic Director Guillermo Avilés-Rodríguez, which takes place around LA‟s Metro Rail Transit System (Metro). Meet Me @ Metro will bridge the gap between the Watts Towers and several other surrounding isolated and segregated sites and communities by guiding audiences from the Red Line‟s Union Station to The Blue Line’s 103rd Street Station, taking a communal journey to view original 10-minute long, site-specific performances revolving around the theme of movement in America today.
This one day only event is completely sold out, so if you are interested in experiencing this groundbreaking theatrical happening, volunteering is a great way to do it! Being a Meet Me @ Metro volunteer is a 2-day commitment. Following is the schedule:

Alum Vince Tula (MFA 07 Acting) is looking for SM for Hollywood Fringe

Vince Tula here MFA acting 2007.

I’m directing a one act that’s going to the Hollywood Fringe and I’m seeking a stage manager and possibly a dramaturg. I wanted to see if I could possibly use a CalArts student that might need credit or that would be willing to stage manage a one act that’s going to the fringe for free.

Alum Sayda Trujillo (BFA ’00 Acting) presents “I was Raised Mexican”

“I Was Raised Mexican” investigates the experience of acquired identity. A Guatemalan teenager finds herself identified by her community as Mexican. Visually, it is a peeling of layers, each offering a possible answer to What is Mexican? Asking, What do you see when you see me? What do we carry with us? What is impossible to leave behind? Through movement, song, absurdist and poetic text, “I Was Raised Mexican” pays close attention to what the immigrant carries with him/her and what this translates in their adopted new home/country.
