All summer they’ve been spreading the word about their movie Mississippi Damned (MD), starring CalArts Alum Simbi Khali-Williams, on the film festival circuit. This summer MD has won 10 awards on the film festival circuit and now they are getting ready for theatrical release in the spring. Most recently at the Chicago International Film Festival, Mississippi Damned won awards including the Jury Awards for best supporting actress Jossie Harris Thacker, best screenplay and best feature film. Also Tina Mabry, the film’s director has recently been named one of Out Magazine’s Top 100 people to know.
